AFGE'S LEGISLATIVE CONFERENCE THIS WEEK
Nation’s Largest Federal Employee Union Issues Rallying Cry for a Stronger Emphasis on Good Government
(WASHINGTON) – Hundreds of federal employees, union activists, from around the country, will be gathering in Washington, DC from February 22-24 for the American Federation of Government Employees annual legislative conference.
The union has expressed concern over the state of homeland security and law enforcement in general – an issue which will be addressed at the conference – and will be calling on the Obama Administration and Congress to move aggressively to correct a host of problems left over from the Bush administration that could greatly impact homeland security and the ability of law enforcement officers to do their jobs.
The nation’s largest federal employee union, AFGE, represents employees in 75 federal agencies including the Department of Homeland Security, Transportation Security Administration, Bureau of Prisons, Social Security and Veterans Affairs. The conference will take place at the Hyatt Regency Hotel located at 400 New Jersey Avenue, NW in Washington, DC.
