AFGE, TSA Nearing First Labor Contract

(WASHINGTON)-The American Federation of Government Employees today announced it is close to coming to agreement with the Transportation Security Administration for a first collective bargaining agreement covering 45,000 Transportation Security Officers nationwide:

"Following marathon negotiations, AFGE and TSA are close to a historic labor contract. We have partial agreement, but we ran out of time at about 3:00 a.m. Saturday before we could complete the entire agreement. Both parties remain committed to reaching an agreement and will go forward from here to bring the negotiations process to a successful conclusion," AFGE National President John Gage said.
