How can someone from the Union steal thousands and thousands from the local fund and local E-board not know what is going on? Is it negligence? Our funds have been stolen for more than 5 years and E-board failed to recognize this. Isn't it the Local Union President's responsibility to over see his other officers to make sure they are complying? Rumor has it over $75,000 has been taken from the banks and these Eboard let it happen because of negligence. Do union members have any rights in trying to recover the losses? Situation currently being investigated by outside agency.

Unfortunately it happened at our local as well!

It is sad that people become so tempted by the money they are supposed to be protecting for their members, they then become theives!

Members need to become more involved in their union. Ask questions, go to member meetings, make your presence and voice known and be heard.

What was your President doing? How the heck can this go on for that many years and they couldn't figure it out? Sounds like an inside job involving more than one or they were just plain stupid for allowing it to happen.

You need to call the Department of Labor (OLMS) and file a complaint. You can also pull up the ML-3 report of the Office of Labor Management Standards web sight. They are a branch of of the DOL>

I hate to say thi but I think its time that someone does a congreshinal investigation in to these locals. Every one of them as the previous local that my husband and I were in is doing the same thing and no one seems to care. Not the NP or the AFGE Lawyers or any one its sad too to think that there are people who are doing this nad getting away with it. I just wish that there was someone or people that would want to do something about it instead of letting it go like this. Its sad I know that and so do others but they don't want ot get involved for fear of retaliation on thier part.

SAD SAD SAD !!!
