Downgrades for hardworking VA Employees

I'm a hard working government employee with 12 years invested in my career, we have just recently been told they are downgrading our position from GS 6 to a GS 5 and many others in my VA are being down graded as many as 3 grade levels. I really don't understand how this is being done and no one is talking about it. I love and I'm very proud to work for our veterans as they have served us I fell good about serving them but in all my 12 years in government I have never seen anything like this and no one is fighting for us at all. The Veterans themselves are shocked to hear that they are doing this to the people who work hard for them everyday and many of these employees are Veterans themselves. This just feels like a kick in the face and its only the higher ups that will benefit from this, us worker bees, the back bone of our nation, the lower middle class thats already in a financial and emotional pit will not. We all..all the positions that this is happening to...we need to stick together and unite and try to change this before the morale at this job that I love and many of you all love too is gone for good. Sad VA employee...
