As a disabled Vietnam Veteran and former president of ADA-Ohio, I strongly recommend that you contact your state Americans with Disabilities office and request a reasonable accommodation to your job description. You are more valuable to the police department and the citizens you serve because of your unique experience. That experience needs to be seen as an additional asset to your career rather than a detriment. Talk to your local advocate, get legal support and request the reasonable accommodation from your employer.

Words alone can not express our great admiration for your phenomenal valor and unselfish acts that ceased MAJ Hasan's bloody rampage. You exhibited bravery beyond belief when you fired at Hasan and intentionally drew his attention on you. To stand and fire more rounds as he charged and fired upon you was such a heroic honor that you should be well commended for. Thank you for your service to our country, which was above and beyond the call of duty. If not for your bravery, so many more lives could have been lost. We are so proud of you and wish you well in your law enforcement career and life!!

Your courage and dedication is inspiring. Whereas most people would have taken cover; you confronted this deranged officer with complete disregard for your own safety.

As a former M.P. At a time when Federal Employees are under constant attack by Polititians who would rather contract our essential services to "private" contractors (read Low Bidders) you are the physical emulation and manifestation of what Federal Law Enforcement really is all about. Men and women dedicated to performing their duties no matter the risk to themselves. Should you ever find yourself in the Reno area it would be my honor to buy you dinner as a small way of saying Thank You for your service and for the fine example that you have set for all Federal Employees. |

Message to Sister Munley:
Being a retired military-civil service(083) disabled person who has been there done that; I would like to thank you for your quick thinking and decisive action which your superiors will surely question as they did me in similar incidents. Maybe things are changing with more veteran supervisors who know the value of an active reservists who serves and puts the SERVICE first and not the I as usually happens.
Yes I served as a DOD at the US Sub Base Groton Connecticut while an MP in the 169th Rhode Island MPs which made me a valuable asset. Which later on was not apreciated as I went to the April 1992 (Garden plot) riots while working for DLA Sharpe Depot as an 083 police officer. My Supervisor Barry Gill ordered me to call in every day while deployed for annual leave which spurned another arbitration. I hope your action dose not precipitate this action.
I hope you continue and enhance your carer with more admirable actions.
Sincerely,
Robert Xavier Betancourt Junior

I know you just think you were "just doing your duty", but, as a DHS Officer, I beleive you should receive acknowledgement of a job well done form your peers. Without hesitation you sized up the situation and reacted with the force required that saved many more lives. I know you will experience the over-hype of media. That still doesn't detract from the the real courage and professional you showed at Fort Hood. |

I suppose everyone at one time in life has a moment that is to be remembered. It can be the birth of a child, a death of a loved one, a promotion or a holiday.
God has allowed you to do his work, in saving those who may make a difference in this world in the future. He has also allowed you the oppurtunity to discover who you are, allowing you a chance to reflect on where your life had been vs. where it is today. Do not second guess his calling but allow it to consume you. I am a A.F. Veteran 1976
and respect your courage not to coward under fire. Allow yourself to live now and be free. Donate your life to doing good. |

Thank you for being there...that in and of itself took a lot of bravery and selflessness since you had to put the welfare of others first. You are a hero because you took a stand and personally showed our society and the world that we are a brave people who will stand in the face of hatred and do all we can to minimize its negative impact. The old saying "Evil will prevail when good "men"[people] do nothing" is only too true. Thank you for your sacrifice and get well soon. |

How humbled I feel to say that we are sisters! You are a HERO to so many that may have lost their lives if it were not for your quick thinking and actions. And, you are a HERO to those of us who have read your name and small snippets about Your life. Your courage, clear thinking, loyalty, fidelity, dedication to honor and justice, and love for your fellow Americans shows so clearly in your actions. What a privilege to be in the same Union. Also to learn that your service to your community as a former Rainbow member and officer was humbling. But, what joy to share that information with others in local Masonic bodies. Your family must be so proud. Worried, maybe; but very proud.
Best wishes on your future. May God speed healing to your body, mind, and spirit. May He grant you increased blessings. And, may you continue to live life to the fullest, aware of the example you have set for young people and especially young ladies across our great nation. |

As a survivor of 9-11, I can relate to some of the things you talked about in your interview. You did a great job and you did what you were trained to do. Congratulations.
As someone who has done CISD I would like to offer the following:
Please take care of yourself and remember two things. First, you were injured and should take the time to heal. Two, the media-fest will come to an end. Too many responders that get hailed as "heros" get caught up in the whirlwind. It's great and you deserve it. It will end soon and the media will move on. Afterwords, your real heroism will be on display when you simply go back to work and do your job every day.

My name is Linda Dill and I live in Tulsa, Oklahoma. I pray you are healing well both physically and mentally. Obviously you are a strong woman with great character. I know you do not feel like a hero as you will say anyone in that position would have done the same. But you are a hero and mentor to many out here. As a woman and as a union member. God Bless you and your family. I thank you for your work. I thank you for letting people know you are a union member and proud of that fact, it is something that Oklahoma and Texas need to realize...we have "regular workers" that do amazing things and standing right by their side is our union. I am from the American Airlines property in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Right now I am blessed to be doing Organizing work for our International at the Transport Workers Union of America. It is amazing. Your pictures shows a great smile and may you have a long and healthy career....God Bless your work!
