Request for Cancellation of AFGE Membership

All AFGE union memberships are irrevocable for one year and automatically renew annually thereafter, with limited exceptions as defined in the AFGE Membership Terms and Conditions.  

You will receive an email response to your Request.  Please allow up to 14 business days for normal processing.

How do you pay Union dues?*

Electronic cancellation requests are only available for members enrolled through AFGE E-Dues.  For payroll deductions, the government requires specific paperwork to stop your deductions and we are unable to process them here at the National Union level. 

Here is what to do:

  • Fill out the SF-1188 form here.  If you work for TSA, fill out the SF-1158 form here.
  • Turn the form into your Local Union office for processing with agency payroll.

Please note that all payroll deduction cancellation requests are subject to the terms of your Collective Bargaining Agreement.
