AFGE Paid off Its Mortgage!

The National Executive Council of the American Federation of Government Employees (AFGE) is proud to report to you that the mortgage on the AFGE National Office Building located in the Capitol Hill area of Washington, D.C. was paid off in December 2014, well in advance of the final payment due in August 2021.
The AFGE National Office Building is our largest asset and houses the National President, National Secretary-Treasurer, National Vice President for Women and Fair Practices and many of our headquarters staff. Paying off the outstanding mortgage balance on the building saves an estimated $1.5 million over the life of the mortgage. We will continue to support the long-term maintenance, safety access and other needed improvement projects for our AFGE Headquarters Building. Congratulations to all of AFGE for this great achievement!
