The AFL-CIO is making it easier than ever for voters to vote this election season.
As making a plan to vote is important, the AFL-CIO has launched BetterInAUnion.org to help you navigate the voting landscape.
Just provide your name, address, and email, you’ll get a list of union-recommended candidates in your area along with information on how to vote, such as registration, early voting, absentee ballot, and your early or day of voting location.
In Virginia, for example, it not only provides the deadline for mailing the absentee ballot but also recommends whether you should request an absentee ballot depending on how many days you have until Election Day.
There’s information on things most people may not know about, such as curbside voting, which, in Virginia, is available at every early voting location from Sept. 20-Nov. 2 for people 65 or older or with a disability.
Then there’s a reminder function. All you need to do is indicate the date and time you want to go vote, and they will send you reminders via email or text and create a calendar appointment. If you want to vote early, for example, it not only provides the early voting location, which differs from where you would go on Election Day, but also what time the site is open and closed.
You can also check whether you’re registered to vote, which IDs are accepted, even directions from your house to the polling place.
So check it out. Happy voting!
