Federal employees must fight changes - now

Mr. Bumm was questioned about exactly what his briefing on NSPS really meant. He could not give definitive answers. He kept referring to "after NSPS is enacted and placed into law."
Asked how much NSPS will cost the American taxpayer to implement, Mr. Bumm quoted $150 million, plus $83 million for the contractor to teach it. (The $83 million was not presented to Congress as part of the original $150 million costs.) Being unclear on the proposal and being misleading about the total cost is normal operating procedure for the Bush administration. Where will the money come from to pay for NSPS to be implemented?
If we do as Mr. Bumm suggests and wait until after the NSPS is made into law, it will be too late to do anything about it. We federal employees will have to live with it until the next presidential regime will hopefully overturn it.
The time to question and fight NSPS is now. We have roughly 30 days to give feedback to our elected representatives. Here is a free number to use to contact senators and representatives toll free at 1-888-355-3588. I urge federal employees to call now and often. We must not let this questionable and undefined NSPS go forward without a fight. How can we all afford to believe the smoke and mirrors of what this current presidential administration is trying to force feed the nation in the name of National Security?
