N.J. senators criticize TSA for security breakdown at Newark airport

New Jersey's U.S. senators are taking federal authorities to task for Sunday's security breach at Newark Liberty International Airport.

Sens. Frank Lautenberg and Robert Menendez criticized the Transportation Security Administration for allowing a man to enter Terminal C through an exit door. The breach closed the terminal for six hours.

A security officer failed to see the man and a surveillance camera wasn't storing video images.

That delayed the search while TSA officials checked video from cameras belonging to Continental Airlines. The man exited the terminal about 20 minutes after he entered. He has not been identified or located.

Menendez says the TSA needs to install cameras that give warnings when they're not recording.
