AFGE is now the exclusive representative to more than 2,200 employees at the Defense Health Agency headquarters.
Federal firefighters work hard to protect lives and property at military bases, VA hospitals, and other federal installations across the country. In recognition of their efforts, AFGE each year recognizes one member as Firefighter of the Year.
The firefighter selected for this honor can come from any department or agency and will have made a significant impact on his or her Local through exemplifying outstanding achievements in areas such as pursuing legislative and political action; fostering training, education, and professional development of firefighters; and building a network of firefighters throughout the Federation through organizing and outreach to Locals.
Nominations are due by Nov. 1. Click here to complete the nomination form.
The VA needs to improve hiring processes and hire thousands of new employees.
AFGE Council 216 representing Equal Employment Opportunity Commission employees have filed two more Unfair Labor Practice complaints against the agency.
