Sky Harbor Airport is in discussions with the Transportation Security Administration to try and speed up the security screening lines.
The system creates three lines based on how familiar passengers are with the screening process.
The black diamond line is for travelers who fly at least twice a month; a blue square is for casual fliers accustomed to security procedures; and a green circle for families and those who need additional assistance.
About two dozen airports are already participating in the new system.
Sky Harbor has not yet decided if it will try it out.
