The Trump administration has been trying to find new ways to “deconstruct” federal agencies like the Environmental Protection Agency and the Department of Education. In fact, it has launched a website soliciting feedback on which government agencies and programs should be cut. The American people, however, are not taking it lying down.
Besides taking to the streets, they’re mobilizing online and populating a new website www.yesgovworks.org with calls for the Trump administration to take its hands off our public services and jobs.
“The Department of Education is what ensures every American kid gets a fair and equal shot at their best future!” writes Coleton W. from Dallas, Texas.
“Don’t gut Labor Department programs that ensure that workers are paid what they are owed and are safe on the job,” Emily T from Helena, Montana, chimes in.
“The EPA’s mission is to protect human health and the environment, not polluters. The EPA should maintain strong air and water pollution standards while tackling the biggest challenge of our time: climate change,” writes Alison C. from Washington, D.C.
