Unlocked door prompts brief lockdown at Metro Airport's McNamara terminal

ROMULUS -- The Ed McNamara terminal at Detroit Metropolitan Airport was briefly shut down this afternoon, and passengers forced to stay in restricted areas, after security personnel discovered an unlocked door, an airport official said.

Passengers were stranded for about 30 minutes while officials from the Transportation Security Administration reviewed videotape to make sure no one had improperly gone through the door, said airport spokesman Mike Conway.

When the TSA was confident there was no security breach, passengers were free to move again, he said. The lock-down occurred about 4:30 p.m.
