Senate Bill Renews Ban on A-76 Privatization Studies

The Senate Appropriations Committee this week passed the 2016 Financial Services appropriations bill with a provision renewing a government-wide ban on the A-76 outsourcing process. An A-76 prohibition specific to the Department of Defense was included in the FY10 National Defense Authorization Act.

DeCA Local Reaches out to California Lawmaker

AFGE Local 63 in California recently met with Daniel Hazard, field director for Rep. Susan Davis, to discuss pressing issues that hurt Defense Commissary Agency employees and military families. The local reported that Director Hazard was receptive to the local’s concern about the merger of the DeCA and AAFES and the increase in employee contribution from 0.8% to 6.35% to the retirement system.
