In June 2016, AFGE leaders and activists met in Philadelphia to discuss our union’s progress on becoming Big Enough to Win. So far, our ambitious plan, which began in the shadow of a government shutdown in 2013, has paid big dividends.
We have grown our strength to 310,000 members and beyond. We have increased our power on Capitol Hill. And, we have deepened our solidarity with one another.
But the work of the those who met in Orlando and during our Committee of the Future meetings, is not yet complete. Attendees at the National Leadership Meeting spent four days of intense examination and discussion about where we’ve been and where we must go in order to continue to create a bold path moving forward.
