For decades AFGE members have flown to D.C. for a week to engage in legislative mobilization at the AFGE Legislative Conference. With the attacks we face every day, we also need to be engaged in legislative mobilization at the local level. The purpose of this week will be to engage in Legislative mobilization at home.
Note: Do not call while on duty or from a government phone:
My name is (first name, last name) and I am an AFGE member that works at (agency and location). I'm calling today because I want you to know that I am proud of government employees. Government employees are an important part of every community. I work hard to bring critical services to my neighbors and the citizens of your district. That's why I'm asking you, since you are a government employee also, to stand up for public employees and let us keep doing what we do best, serve all Americans. I hope you will keep all of this in mind as you and your boss consider any policies that impact federal employees or the services we provide to the American people.
Note: Always be clear you are speaking in your union capacity, not as a government employee
If you or your Local/Council plans to be involved in the week of action or you have any questions, please contact your LPO.
Please join us in this important event!
