Largest federal employee union calls Braveboy a ‘champion of workers’ rights’

WASHINGTON – Today, the American Federation of Government Employees announced its endorsement Aisha Braveboy for Prince George’s County State’s Attorney.

“Aisha Braveboy is exactly the person we need to be Prince George’s County’s next State’s Attorney,” said AFGE District 14 National Vice President Eric Bunn Sr. “She is a champion of workers’ rights and a fighter for anyone facing discriminatory or predatory practices. We know that Aisha will leverage her 17 years of legal and legislative experience to help all of Prince George’s County’s residents once she wins the primary and general election this fall.”

“As one of the largest counties of federal workers in the metropolitan area, it’s essential that we elect Aisha. She has the experience of protecting consumers and juveniles, as well as great leadership of the Maryland Black Legislative Caucus during her eight years as delegate,” said Bunn.

Nearly 310,000 federal employees live in Maryland, supporting the military, caring for veterans, ensuring the safety of the flying public, and getting Social Security recipients their benefits accurately and on time.

AFGE is the largest federal employee union in the country, representing 700,000 federal and D.C. government workers in all functions of government. District 14 has more than 21,000 dues-paying members in the DC metropolitan area and Europe.
