AFGE Endorses Montana’s Kathleen Williams for Congress

Williams will fight for public-sector workers and services, union says

WASHINGTON – The American Federation of Government Employees today announced its endorsement of Kathleen Williams for the U.S. House of Representatives for Montana’s at-large Congressional District.

“The daughter of a World War II veteran father and Navy shipyard civilian mother, Kathleen Williams values public-sector employees and the programs and services that America’s workers deliver every day,” AFGE District 11 National Vice President Gerald Swanke said.

“An avid outdoors enthusiast, Kathleen Williams will fight to protect our natural resources in Montana and across the country. She understands the critical work that federal employees perform to keep our air and water clean, to serve our veterans, to support our military, and keep our economy strong,” Swanke said.

“Montana’s working families will have a powerful ally when we elect Kathleen Williams to Congress this November,” he said.

More than 14,000 federal employees live in Montana – ensuring our food is safe to eat, protecting our natural resources, caring for veterans, and getting Social Security recipients their benefits accurately and on time. There are 26,610 current and retired federal workers in Montana.

AFGE is the largest federal employee union in the country, representing 700,000 federal and D.C. government workers in all functions of government. District 11 represents more than 56,000 federal employees in Alaska, Colorado, Guam, Idaho, Montana, Okinawa, Oregon, Utah, Washington, and Wyoming.
