LAS VEGAS – The American Federation of Government Employees today announced its endorsement of Susie Lee for the U.S. House of Representatives for Nevada’s 3rd Congressional District.
“Susie Lee is a fierce advocate for federal working people and is the right person to represent the men and women of Nevada’s 3rd district,” said AFGE District 12 National Vice President George McCubbin III.
“Susie has shown her dedication to supporting fair pay for public servants, ensuring taxpayers’ services are fully-funded, and she will fight to protect our nation’s veterans and the health care they have earned,” he added.
“Susie Lee is exactly who you want to fight for your interests in Congress,” said AFGE Local 1978 President Mike Guerrissi. “She believes in the work done by federal employees, wants accountability and transparency around outsourcing, and will stand with us in our fight for fair compensation for the invaluable work our members do,” he added.
More than 33,000 federal employees live in Nevada – nearly 7,000 of whom reside in the 3rd district – supporting the military, caring for veterans, ensuring the safety of the flying public, and getting Social Security recipients their benefits accurately and on time.
AFGE is the largest federal employee union in the country, representing 700,000 federal and D.C. government workers in all functions of government. District 12 has more than 40,000 dues paying members in Arizona, California, Hawaii, and Nevada.
