Court Decision to Block Union Appeal of Anti-Worker Executive Orders Is ‘Sad Day for Country,’ AFGE Says

WASHINGTON – In response to today’s decision by the U.S. Court of Appeals to deny our request for reconsideration of its July ruling that clears the way for the Trump administration to enforce three union-busting executive orders on the federal workforce, American Federation of Government Employees National President J. David Cox Sr. issued the following statement:
“The court’s decision not to grant an en banc rehearing of this vitally important case with far-reaching effects across the federal government is a sad day for the country. While we review our options, hundreds of thousands of federal government workers will suffer as their access to union representation at the worksite is stripped away by the implementation of President Trump’s union-busting executive orders.”
