After serving in the Navy, including two tours in Iraq, José returned home and became a correctional officer at USP Atwater in California where he risked his life to keep his community - and all of us - safe from some of the most dangerous and violent criminals in our country.
José was alone when he was attacked and murdered at 22-years-old. One of the inmates, Joseph Cabrera Sablan is about to get a reprieve.
Rather than the death penalty, Cabrera Sablan is facing another life sentence. This isn't justice for José. It sets a dangerous precedent and tells other criminals that it's okay to assault and kill Correctional Officers.
Get justice for Jose and all Correctional Workers. Tell Congress to pass the Thin Blue Line Act (HR 814).
