Colonial Life: Special Notice to Federal Government Employees/Contractors

Colonial Life is proud to help improve the financial security of many federal government employees and contractors through our products and services. Unfortunately, the current partial government shutdown has resulted in some federal workers and contractors not being paid. In those situations, insurance premiums tied to payroll have been missed as well.

Typical policy language allows for a grace period when premiums are not paid before a policy is considered in lapse status. With this in mind, federal workers and contractors already dealing with the difficult ramifications of not being paid can rest assured that their insurance coverage with us continues during the grace period.

Should the shutdown continue indefinitely, we will provide additional details regarding our strategy of supporting our valued federal employees and contractors through this challenging time.

If you need to submit a claim, you can do so online via our eClaims system. To submit a claim, sign up for direct deposit or change your mailing address, log into your account or follow the simple directions to create a new account.
