When you join the union, you have access to these AFGE benefits. These benefits are backed by the collective strength of over 10-million members of AFL-CIO unions. By using one or two of the programs, many members save as much as their annual dues.

These Money-Saving Benefits are Available Only to AFGE Members:

Discount Pharmacy Program

This program is intended for the AFGE members’ extended family (parents, aunts, uncles etc.) or the member who may not have good health benefits coverage and is in great need of help in reducing health care expenses.

Retail prescription drug discounts are offered through the US Script, Inc. network of over 45,000 retail pharmacies nationwide, including the major chains with significant union representation--Rite Aid and Thrifty-Payless. The program offers discounts 20% to 40% off retail prices. Fourth quarter 2005 savings data show actual discounts averaging over 17% or nearly $13 per prescription. Deeper mail-order discounts are available through US Script’s mail order division called RXdirect, Inc.

Standard Program - $14.95/year, per family or a one time fee of $4.95 if members join using their Union Plus credit card.

Answer: Yes in Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands*. No in Guam.

*Free or Standard program available only (since there are no dental providers). USVI there are 2 participating retail pharmacies and no participating providers for other program benefits (vision, hearing and foot & ankle care). AFGE continues its effort to expand this and other benefit programs to all members regardless of where they reside.
