Eugene Hudson Jr. was elected National Secretary-Treasurer at AFGE’s 39th National Convention in Las Vegas. Prior to assuming this role, Hudson served since 1999 as National Vice President for AFGE’s 12th District, which represents nearly 33,000 members across 100 AFGE Locals in Arizona, California, Hawaii and Nevada.

Hudson has 30 years of experience as an AFGE union official. He served five terms as the 12th District National Vice President and served as Secretary-Treasurer of AFGE Social Security Administration Local 2452 during the Reagan Administration. In July 2012, he was reelected to his fourth term as vice president of the California Labor Federation.

Under Hudson’s leadership, AFGE District 12 was one of the first Districts to obtain a back pay attorney working solely on assisting the district locals to take wrongful termination cases involving back pay to employees. In 2008, NVP Hudson opened a training center as part of the District 12 office, which allowed the district to offer free monthly trainings to hundreds of members.
