AFGE is urging locals to take action now to protect themselves against potential attacks under the second Trump administration.
From dismantling union contracts to targeting agency missions, AFGE and federal workers suffered tremendously during the first Trump administration. We know that a second Trump administration will bring back these same attacks and more on our union, our rights, and our ability to serve the American people. But this time, AFGE is ready. We are in better shape than we were and are ready to get to work and do our job protecting workers’ rights.
“We've faced challenges like this before, and we know what’s at stake. We know what’s coming—and we’re ready,” said AFGE President Everett Kelley. “This time, we’ll be even more prepared. Together, with solidarity and resilience, we will withstand and overcome these attacks. Now is the time to take action, to fortify our strength, and to make our union unbreakable.”
Here’s what AFGE members can do to stay engaged in the fight:
- Update your contact information at www.afge.org/update so we can get you the latest information and alerts when it matters most.
- Sign up for text alerts by texting AFGE to 59129. Stay in the loop, stay ahead of the curve, and never miss critical updates.
- Strengthen your union by recruiting new members and getting more involved in your local. The larger we are the stronger we are.
- Reach out to Congress. Schedule meetings with your members of Congress and senators. Let them know how attacks on our union impact the services their constituents depend on.
