Congratulations to Shenise Turner-Sloss for winning the Dayton City Commissioner race on Nov.2!
Shenise is a logistics management specialist at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base and a member of AFGE Local 1138.
AFGE District 6 fully supported her campaign and sent out alerts to its members for this race. It also actively pushed back against some of the underhanded tactics used against Shenise by her opponent.
The district is very excited about Shenise’s victory, which was won by only 53 votes! This is why every phone call, every text, every door knock, every mailer, every conversation, and every vote matters!
“It is always great when your candidate wins an election, but it is even better when it is one of your own,” said AFGE District 6 National Vice President Arnold Scott. “AFGE District 6 is so proud of Shenise Turner Sloss. She is an example of what can happen if you work hard in the community and your brothers and sisters support you.”
“You see, the more union members we can elect, the more opportunities we have for our issues to be addressed,” he added.
Shenise is a proud union member, as seen on her Twitter page where she describes herself as “Wife, Mom, Public Servant, Proud Member of @AFGENational, Logistics at @WrightPattAFB ---- Dayton City Commissioner-Elect.”
Congratulations again to a proud member of our AFGE family, Shenise Turner-Sloss on this exciting victory!
