November was another good month for our union on the organizing front as we ended the month with a net increase of 1,312 active members.
November is normally a relatively sluggish month for organizing, but this year AFGE showed the same strong growth we’ve had all year. In fact, we have grown every single month since September 2022.
As with past months, the growth is shared throughout the federation. Every district but one had a net increase in November, and most grew by significant amounts.
“The federation is working hard and maintaining healthy growth month over month,” said AFGE M&O Director Dave Cann. “We owe this unusually good month, and all our recent growth, to hard work at all levels in the federation, especially the local level.”
AFGE has grown by 5% this year.
“When folks sign up and feel real ownership of their union, they begin working immediately to grow their power on the job,” he added. “That effort includes organizing and bringing more people into the local. It is really exciting to see!”
