Election Day on Nov. 5 is only two months away, and a lot of AFGE members are concerned. This election is the most important election in our lifetime as our union’s very existence depends on the outcome.
Besides the presidential race, 33 Senate seats and all 435 House seats are up for election.
AFGE members jobs, rights, and livelihoods are on the line in this election. Our future depends on electing politicians to the White House and Congress who understand and support government workers.
Even though the challenges we face are great, they are no match for the talent, strength, and dedication of the AFGE membership. That’s why we invite you to volunteer to make sure we elect candidates up and down the ballot that support government workers and the work they do.
Volunteering with your union program can mean making phone calls, texting fellow members, canvassing union member households, writing postcards to fellow union members, and more. The needs in each will vary slightly, but we will make sure to give you options for how to plug in and make a difference in your area. Several races will be close. That’s why voter turnout from the union household is so important.
