AFGE members working for the Federal Bureau of Prisons have reelected AFGE Council 33 President Brandy Moore White to her second consecutive term leading the Council of Prison Locals.
White secured her victory with more than 60% of the vote in the elections held Aug. 18 during the council’s convention.
Moore served six years as the council’s secretary-treasurer before being elected as its leader in August 2023. She has worked in the Bureau of Prisons since 2004.
“I am honored to have been reelected to serve our membership, and I am deeply thankful for the continued trust,” Moore said. “While we appreciate the support, we know the real work still lies ahead – standing united to protect our contract and rights in the face of the challenges we are currently facing.”
Council 33 Secretary-Treasurer Steve Markle also won another term as secretary-treasurer, while Larry Nelson was elected vice president for women and fair practices. The remaining officers were reelected without opposition.
