AFGE relaunched the Defend Our Jobs web center this week to help employees keep track of Department of Defense spending and authorization bills as they move through Congress.
The new site includes workplace and organizing flyers, fact sheets, official correspondence, and ways for employees to write or call their members of Congress.
The House Armed Services Committee is scheduled to begin marking up the fiscal 2016 National Defense Authorization Act on April 29. AFGE has identified proposals that will be both good and bad for our members. Details can be found on the website.
In addition, AFGE unveiled a new orientation video this week tailored to the 250,000 civilian employees we represent across DoD services and agencies.
The video highlights the many benefits of becoming a member of the AFGE family. It’s a great video to show employees at Lunch and Learns, New Employee Orientations, and other gatherings.
