Warning all procrastinators – this is your final week to register for the AFGE S.T.A.N.D. Conference and Young Worker Summit.
S.T.A.N.D. is short for Service Through Action and National Development, and that’s what attendees can expect to experience at this year’s conference, taking place from July 31 to Aug. 3 in Atlanta.
The 2026 S.T.A.N.D. Conference is a premier training opportunity, bringing together hundreds of AFGE leaders and activists to work toward a more just union, workplace, and world. This conference is designed to deepen our understanding of the challenges we face and equip us with the tools we need to be effective advocates for change.
This year’s conference will feature some of our most popular training courses, including EEO I (Basic), EEO II (Intermediate), Legal Writing, Coordinator Bootcamp, Collective Bargaining, Conflict Resolution, Workers’ Compensation, Financial Officers Training, Organizing Institute, and more.
In addition, a separate track will be offered for the Young Workers Summit, which will focus on important aspects of union life in the labor movement and provide new unionists with tools to be successful union activists.
Registration closes at 5 p.m. Eastern this Friday, July 17. Don’t miss out on this important training opportunity!
For 94 years, AFGE’s mission has been to improve the lives of government workers and make sure they have the resources they need to serve the American people.
Hundreds of AFGE leaders and activists are newly empowered to stamp out discrimination in federal and D.C. government workplaces thanks to the training they received at the 2026 S.T.A.N.D. Conference.
Federal employees at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention are hoping the agency’s newly confirmed leader will work to repair the relationship between workers and management.
