At our AFGE Triennial Convention in Orlando this year, a special organizing award will be given to an individual (member or staff) or group (Local, Council or staff team) of individuals. This award will be given for activities over a 36-month period, beginning June 2012 and ending May 2015. The award will recognize outstanding results in the area of union building. This award will not be based exclusively on actual 1187's, 1158’S or 277's recruited.
Nominations should contain the following: A brief description of the campaign or event in which the nominee(s) are engaged; a brief, but concise, statement as to why the campaign or event stands out; and why the outcome is considered a success.
Nominations for the Special Organizing Award may be submitted from any AFGE national officer, Local or Council (which is in good standing).
All nominations must be forwarded to the Membership and Organizing Department, 80 F Street, NW, Washington, DC 20001, by June 30, 2015, and must include appropriate supporting documentation.
Nominations will be reviewed and winners selected by the Organizing Committee, a subcommittee of the NEC, prior to the Convention.
