Correctional Officers, MNA Nurses in Solidarity

Categories: BOP

Correctional officers from AFGE Local 222 at Devens federal prison last week joined the Massachusetts Nurses Association for an informational picket calling for better pay and increased staffing.

Holding a sign that read “Support Nashoba Valley Nurses,” Local 222 President Dave Martinez and Joe Gaucher joined MNA nurses’ picket in front of Nashoba Valley Medical Center in Massachusetts. The nurses, overworked and underpaid, said inequitable pay has led to staffing problems and unsustainable scheduling practices at Nashoba that affect patient care.

AFGE’s participation is solidarity in action. Their fight is our fight!
