AFGE Local 31 President Darryl Bell from the Cleveland VA Medical Center and AFGE Legislative and Political Organizer Steve Campisi recently were honored by Rep. Shontell Brown, D-Ohio, for their work serving federal employees.
During Rep. Brown’s State of the District event on Feb. 12, Bell and Campisi were recognized as champions for justice and accountability along with other local leaders from Ohio’s 11th Congressional District.
The recognition says that their work has “directly contributed to dignity, accountability, and community trust, particularly during a time of heightened challenge and uncertainty for residents of the district.”
Ohio’s 11th Congressional District covers Cleveland and the northeast section of the state. Rep. Brown has represented the district since 2021.
AFGE once again called on Congress to pass a measure to fund the Department of Homeland Security and end the longest government shutdown in U.S. history.
