Don’t miss out on the opportunity to learn new skills and network with your AFGE siblings at one of the union’s biggest events of the year!
AFGE’s Women and Fair Practices Departments are hosting our annual Sister’s Keeper Summit and Human Rights Training Conference on July 28-Aug. 4 in National Harbor, Maryland. This important conference is designed to deepen our understanding of the challenges that we face and equip activists with the tools they need to be effective advocates for racial, social, and economic justice for all federal and D.C. government workers.
This year’s Human Rights Training theme is “We Who Believe In Justice” and features some of our most popular training courses, including EEO Basic, Intermediate, and Advanced, Legal Writing, Racial Justice, Conflict Resolution, Workplace Bullying, Worker’s Compensation, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, and more. These classes are always well attended and receive great reviews from participants.
Our 4th annual Sister's Keeper Summit brings together the women and women-identifying leaders of AFGE as well as allies for three days of workshops, planning sessions, panels, and more. This summit is an opportunity for us to come together to discuss the issues affecting women in the workplace and beyond, and to develop strategies for advancing our rights and interests. Our focus is not only on workplace issues, but the issues that also have an impact on our AFGE sisters in their communities as well as in the labor movement.
