AFGE Local 32, covering workers at the Office of Personnel Management in Washington, D.C., held its annual fall festival this week. On a beautiful day in downtown Washington, employees at OPM and surrounding agencies spent their lunch hour visiting exhibit tables from area organizations and learning more about programs run by the AFGE national office.
The festival is an ongoing organizing event aimed at educating attendees about the work of local organizations and how AFGE supports workers on the job. Organizations that took part in the festival include the Community Services Agency, the National Association of American Veterans, Blacks in Government, the Lupus Foundation, and the Coalition of Labor Union Women.
AFGE national departments that engaged with employees at the event included the Women’s and Fair Practices Departments, membership and organizing, and political action.
