AFGE Applauds Senate Committee Action to Give All Federal Workers 2.7 Percent Increase
WASHINGTON, D.C - AFGE applauds the Senate Transportation, Treasury and Housing and Urban Development Subcommittee for its approval of a 2.7 percent increase for all federal employees, regardless of their employer and their pay system.
Blue collar workers supporting our troops overseas, as well as defense and homeland security employees risking their lives to protect all Americans and their families on our home front, should be guaranteed the same pay increase as General Schedule federal civilian workers and military personnel.
AFGE members extend their thanks to Chairman Kit Bond of Missouri , Ranking Member Patty Murray and Senator Barbara Mikulski for their bipartisan efforts to secure language in this bill that provides a 2.7 percent increase to all federal employees.
“AFGE urges the full Senate Appropriations Committee to support this bill language to provide pay parity for all federal civilian employees, no matter where they work or what pay system they are under,” said Legislative and Political Director Beth Moten.
