(WASHINGTON, D.C.)—John Gage, National President of the American Federation of Government Employees (AFGE) offered the following statement concerning the passing of President Ronald Reagan, on behalf of over 200,000 AFGE members.
"Although the American labor community often found itself at odds with President Ronald Reagan, AFGE mourns the loss of a worthy opponent and a great American. AFGE members will join with all Americans to honor President Ronald Reagan in observing a National Day of Mourning on Friday, June 11th."
The American Federation of Government Employees (AFGE) is the nation's largest federal employee union, representing 600,000 federal and D.C. government workers nationwide and overseas.
