AFGE President John Gage Applauds Senate Committee Action To give All Federal Workers A 4.1 Percent Increase
WASHINGTON, D.C.—“AFGE applauds the Senate Appropriations Committee for its approval of a 4.1 percent increase for all federal employees, regardless of their employer and their pay system.”
“Blue collar workers supporting our troops overseas, as well as defense and homeland security employees risking their lives to protect all Americans and their families on our home front, should be guaranteed the same pay increase as General Schedule federal civilian workers and military personnel.
“AFGE members extend their thanks to Chairman Ted Stevens, Ranking Member Robert Byrd, and Senators Richard Shelby, Barbara Mikulski, Susan Collins, Daniel Akaka and Patty Murray for their bipartisan efforts to secure language in this bill that provides a 4.1 percent increase to all federal employees.
“AFGE urges the full House to pass similar language in its version of this bill to provide pay parity for all federal civilian employees, no matter where they work or what pay system they are under.”
