(WASHINGTON, D.C.)—AFGE National President Bobby L. Harnage and Transportation Security Administration (TSA) screeners from Detroit, JFK and Orlando International Airports will appear at the National Press Club on:
Monday, June 9 at 10:00 a.m.
National Press Building, Zenger Room
14th & F Streets, NW
Washington, D.C.
A federal screener from Detroit will discuss the unlawful disciplining he has received from TSA managers for serving in the Reserve (a clear violation of the Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act). Harnage and other federal screeners will discuss ways to strengthen the professional workforce and the importance in keeping airport security out of the hands of private contractors.
AFGE is the largest federal employee union in the United States, representing 600,000 federal and D.C. workers. For more information on AFGE and TSA, log onto
