WASHINGTON - AFL-CIO President Richard Trumka will appear this week on AFGE’s “Inside Government” nationally syndicated radio program to address the need for collective bargaining rights at the Transportation Security Administration (TSA). The show will air on Friday, Feb. 26 at 10 a.m. EST nationwide on Federal News Radio at www.federalnewsradio.com and 1500 AM in the Washington, D.C., area.
The interview, which originally aired last week on “Inside Government,” follows a massive TSA rally that took place this week at the AFL-CIO headquarters in Washington, D.C. The rally featured hundreds of Transportation Security Officers, union members, and activists from around the country who came together in support of these critical workplace rights. A recap of the rally with producer Jason Fornicola will soon be available on “Inside Government” TV at www.youtube.com/afgeonline.
U.S. Rep. Frank Pallone (D-N.J.), who chairs the Health subcommittee on the House Energy and Commerce committee, will share his thoughts on health care reform as an economic issue and his displeasure with the proposed tax on health care plans.
Common Cause President and CEO and former U.S. Rep. Bob Edgar (D-Pa.) then will analyze the recent Supreme Court decision to lift restrictions on corporate campaign spending, as well as strategies for financial reform.
Lastly, Families USA Executive Director Ron Pollack will address the need to finalize health care reform and describe what a final bill might look like.
