WASHINGTON—U.S. Rep.-elect Frank Kratovil (D-Md.) will appear this week on the American Federation of Government Employees’ (AFGE) radio program “Inside Government.” Kratovil will discuss his goals representing Maryland’s 1st Congressional District. But first, hear from Witold Skwierczynski, president of AFGE’s National Council of SSA Field Operations Locals, as he details his council’s fight against SSA privatization and the iClaims initiative. Also, Robert Weiner, president of Robert Weiner Associates, will discuss ways Congress can improve on its low public approval rating, and how negative perceptions of government can be changed. Lastly, Joel Whitney, editor-in-chief of Guernica magazine, will detail his publication’s unique perspective which blends arts, politics, and current events. The show will air on Friday, Nov. 21 at 10:00 a.m. ET nationwide on www.federalnewsradio.com and 1500 AM in the Washington, D.C., area.
“Inside Government” is a one-hour weekly nationwide radio/Internet program dedicated to issues that impact all federal and D.C. government employees. In launching “Inside Government,” AFGE became one of the first unions and the only federal workers’ union to have a national broadcast program on the air.
