WASHINGTON – American Federation of Government Employees National President John Gage today issued the following statement in response to the Senate’s approval of legislation ending the two-week partial shutdown at the Federal Aviation Administration:
“We are glad that the 4,000 FAA employees who were furloughed due to this congressional impasse will be able to get back to work. However, this is only a short-term solution. Congress must pass a permanent, long-term reauthorization bill that does not undermine workers’ rights to join a union.”
