Largest Federal Employee Union Issues Statement in Support of AFT President Randi Weingarten
WASHINGTON – In response to disparaging comments made about American Federation of Teachers President Randi Weingarten, American Federation of Government Employees National President Everett Kelley issued the following statement:
“Randi Weingarten is a lifelong educator and labor leader who has dedicated her life in service to our nation’s children, their teachers, and communities across the country.
“Anyone who suggests she or other union members who make America work are a threat to their fellow citizens – let alone the greatest threat we face – is intentionally sowing division in our country and doing the work of America's enemies.”
