(PALM SPRINGS, CALIF.)—The American Federation of Government Employees (AFGE) National Veterans Affairs Council (NVAC) will be holding its 17th Triennial Training Convention November 12-16, 2001, at the Rivera Hotel.
Convening under the theme Out of Many, One Union, the NVAC will officially kick off its convention on Monday, November 12, with a moment of silence for all veterans lost during the past year. Keynote speakers include AFGE National President Bobby L. Harnage and the Department of Veteran’s Affairs (DVA) Cemetery Administration Director Roger Rapp.
The NVAC, with over 50,000 members, will have 500 delegates attending the convention in Palm Springs to elect new officers and participate in trainings. On Sunday, November 11, NVAC delegates will march in the 5th Annual Palm Springs Veterans Day Parade. Over 60 percent of NVAC members are veterans.
