WASHINGTON – The effort by federal employees to protest the unprecedented 16-day government shutdown last fall has been documented in a new video released by the American Federation of Government Employees.
When the federal government shut down in 2013, AFGE members across the nation stood up and spoke out. The five-minute video, unveiled this week during AFGE’s annual legislative conference, recounts their inspiring efforts to fight back and publicize the detrimental effects of the 16-day lockout.
“Our members took to the streets and to the airwaves like never before to protest the government lockout, and this video is a testament to their efforts,” AFGE National President J. David Cox Sr. said.
