AFGE President: Trump advocates privatizing VA system that he calls a ‘public trust’
WASHINGTON – American Federation of Government Employees National President J. David Cox Sr. today issued the following statement in response to Donald Trump’s comments before the American Legion National Convention today:
“Donald Trump can’t have it both ways when it comes to privatizing the VA.
“Out of one side of his mouth he says the VA is a ‘public trust’ that will remain ‘a public system,’ then turns around and calls it ‘a terrible situation’ and advocates dismantling the health care system millions of veterans rely on.
“Newsflash Donald: veterans aren’t falling for it. They won’t let you sell them out just so some hospital CEO can profit off their war wounds.”
