Good morning! Here’s an overview of what’s on tap today:
Delegate check-in: Stop by Atlantic Hall C to check-in before tomorrow’s rush. Hours are 10 a.m.-1 p.m., 3-6 p.m., and 7-10 p.m.
Interfaith service: Come together for fellowship and reflection before starting the busy week ahead – all without leaving the hotel! All are welcome to attend our interfaith service from 9:30 a.m.-noon in Americas Seminar.
Exhibit hall continues: Make sure to visit the exhibit hall today, as most of the exhibits will be packing up after tonight.Hours are from 10 a.m.-1 p.m., 3-6 p.m., and 7-10 p.m. Atlantic Hall C
New delegate trainings: Orientation sessions will be held today for delegates and alternate delegates attending the convention for the first time, or those who just need a refresher course on parliamentary procedure. Attendance is highly encouraged. Sessions will be held from 1-3 p.m. and again from 4-6 p.m., both in SH 4/5.
Robert’s Rules of Order workshop: Anyone conducting a union business meeting knows how important it is to follow parliamentary rules and procedures. AFGE Y.O.U.N.G. will host a workshop on Robert’s Rules of Order from 5-7 p.m. Sunday in SH 3.
Juneteenth observance: Join us on the Southern Hemisphere 1 & 2 from 7-9 p.m. for a ceremony in recognition of the federal holiday Juneteenth, which commemorates the emancipation of enslaved African Americans.
Council meetings: AFGE councils are meeting today and throughout the week to discuss resolutions and other convention business. The National Council of Field Labor Locals meets from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. in Oceanic 7, NVAC Council 53 meets from 8 a.m.-Noon in SH 1-3, TSA Council 100 meets from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. in NH E1, U.S. Marine Corps Council 240 meets from 4:30-6:30 p.m. in Oceanic 2, and Coast Guard Council 120 meets from 6-8 p.m. in NH A4.
