Mario Campos, District 12 National Vice President

Mario Campos serves as the District 12 National Vice President (NVP) of the American Federation of Government Employees, advocating for federal employees across Arizona, California, Hawaii, and Nevada. He first ascended to the role of NVP in September 2020, earning re-election in May 2023.
An accomplished U.S Marine Corps combat veteran, Campos segued into local law enforcement post-service as a deputy for the Yuma County Sheriff’s Office in Arizona. His role further expanded into public service, spending over 15 years as a U.S Border Patrol Agent.
Since 2007, his union membership has seen him service roles such as Local union steward, Local vice president, and Local president for AFGE Local 2595. Campos obtained his Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Phoenix.
Born in Mexicali, Baja California, Mexico, Campos holds the mantle as the eldest amongst his siblings. He was brought up in Southern California where he was raised by both parents.
